About Me
Kazi Toufikul Islam Emon began his theatre journey in 1990 with the renowned Bangladeshi theatre group Aranyak Natyadal. This marked the beginning of a lifelong dedication to the performing arts. As one of the most respected and politically conscious theatre groups in Bangladesh, Aranyak provided Emon with a strong foundation in socially engaged theatre. Under the guidance of seasoned theatre practitioners, he quickly developed a deep appreciation for the power of performance as a tool for storytelling, activism, and cultural preservation.
Work Experience
His responsibilities have included devising institutional policies, developing audience engagement strategies, overseeing financial operations, and coordinating recruitment activities..
He has been deeply involved in managing multiple wings of Prachyanat, such as the Prachyanat School of Acting and Design, the Theatre-in-the-Open program, Theatre-lab productions, the Research Cell, and Prachyanat for Children.
Simultaneously, since 2001, Toufikul has worked as a full-time Drama Teacher at Scholastica School, one of the country’s premier English-medium institutions. In this role, he has shaped a new generation of young actors, thinkers, and performers by delivering a comprehensive drama curriculum from primary to A-level students.
His roles have ranged from emotionally charged dramatic parts to complex psychological characters, showcasing his adaptability and artistic depth.
